The World Youth Fly Fishing Championship came to an end on Sunday after three days of tough fishing in extreme heat. The venue was the world renowned River San in Poland.
The Polish team made good use of local knowledge to come out on top followed by Spain and Czech Republic in that order. The Irish team gave a very creditable performance to finish 6th overall. The highlight for the Irish team was their comprehensive win in the 5th and final session.
This was a very solid performance from these young Irish anglers and bodes well for the future of Irish angling.
