Angling effort on the Moy was very poor last week with only 170 salmon reported caught. A lot of anglers seem to have taken there annual family holidays at the same time. Water has dropped down very fast to pre flood levels, while not down to July levels, it is still very low.

All Fisheries are reporting a good show of fish but a very poor take.

On the Moy Fishery Ridge Pool Henry Stagg Kildare had a nice 4.5 lb fish on the fly. On Saturday Ghillie John Howley fished down through the Cathedral Beat, Spring wells and Ash Tree pools and reported meeting a lot of fish and catching and releasing two on the fly.

Upstream Markus Wunderli Switzerland had a 4 lb fish taken on Bubble & fly on the Coolcronan Fishery. Further upstream Brian McGarvey had a nice fish on the fly at the Foxford Fishery, his first Moy salmon. Also at the Foxford Fishery Eddie Manthrope NI. Had 4 fish, 2 of which he released, all on Bubble & fly. Above Foxford Thiery Coulm France had 5 fish on Bubble & fly, all released on the Cloongee Fishery. On East Mayo Anglers water Clarke Little NI. Had 1 fish on fly and Jonathan Little NI. 2 fish on fly.
