Kit Dunne has moved the Castle Maiden down the coast again this year so he can get better access to shark fishing for some of the summer…
12 August: 3 blues for the stags today, and tough conditions for the party animals. Porgies got us 3 times, on, off, on again and gone, we were left with the hook and maybe head.
14 August: 26 Blue Shark to the Castle Maiden. Many PBs were broken yesterday. Daniel Kelly had his most ever at 13. I had 7 and my biggest to date and Henry Kelly had 6 while struggling with a bad back. Fingers were cut, eyes poked and arms grazed. Great craic, mayhem at times. Was well worth the effort. One of those days we could just as easily not bothered, thank God we did!
