Larry McCarthy of Corrib View Lodge Glencorrib http://www.corribangling.com reports of a slower week gone by on Corrib but guests still had action mainly on dries. Michael O Dwyer and friend Patrick McCarthy from Cork fished with Larry for two days and landed six fish on dry sedges with the best fish being three and a half pounds. Guests from the USA landed eight fish on dapped dry mayflies and dapped crickets. Dane Retter from the UK fished one day and boated three trout up to two pounds. Larry is hopeful we will see the start of some late olive hatches which will provide better dry fly action in the coming weeks.

In the Greenfields area on Sunday last The Ennis Anglers hosted a competition in which thirteen anglers participated first place went to Tom Coyle with two fish for three and a half pounds and in second place was Seamus O Loughlin with two fish for three pounds. Galway angler Harold O Toole on Saturday last had good action on wetflies in the Inchagoill area landing four fish two of which were over three pounds each.
In the Oughterard area Basil Shields of Ardnasillagh Lodge (091-552550) reports of reasonably good fishing when weather conditions are gavourable, Basil guided Peter Boyle who landed four fish for one day on dry sedges with the best fish almost two pounds, Jack Kingcade had seven fish in the deeps with the best fish being three pounds, Tim Steveson had nine fish for his trip to Corrib with the best fish being two and a half pounds also in the deeps on daphnia and finally from Ardnasillagh Lodge John Fitzgearld from Shannon had two fish also on daphnia.
Kevin Molloy of Baurisheen Bay Boat Hire, Guiding & Self Catering (087-9604170) reports of a French Father & son for a day and a half landing eight trout for there trip between a pound and a half up to two and a half pounds. On Tuesday last Kevin himself and friend had five fish on wets for their day. Frank Doyle had four fish up to two and a half pounds on wets. Mark Curtis had two trout best fish three and a half pounds. Gene Haran had three fish for his day on wets on Tuesday last. Kevin guided visiting USA angler John had three trout trolling and a Dutch angler for half a day landed three trout trolling
In the Cornamona area Tom Doc Sullivan http://www.tomdoc.com reports of the deeps fishing well on Lough Corrib, He guided one client for one day and boated four keepers with the best fish being two pounds.
Tom also guided a visiting Swiss angler for one day and boated two fish best a pound and three quarters.
