Mick Flanagan reports on the fishing on Ennell…

Dave McBride of Southside Angling center in Dublin was top rod on Ennell recently in the Rex Beaumont Cup. Dave had two cracking trout, best weighing an impressive 3.204lbs., Mullingar angler Daniel Sweeney was 2nd with 2.380lbs. I had bit of luck and came 3rd with 1.874lbs, and Alan Tyrrell was 4th.

John Tyrrell. Competition captain L.E.T.P.A.

The competition was fished from 11am-7pm and John Tyrrell competition captain of L.E.T.P.A. presented the winners with prizes, and thanked all who supported the competition.

The “BUTTONS”  as they are called are hatching on Ennell, and some nice trout are taking a shine to these sedge type flies.

Ennell anglers will be back in action come July as we look forward to the Jimmy Nea Cup. Date for this competition will be announced at a later stage, and we will keep you posted on this fly angling competition.
