Mick Flanagan reports on fishing in the Midlands lakes.
Trout on dry olives
Once again I had a few enjoyable days on Lene with pal Marty Smith, and the trout really took a shine to our dry flies, and also we fished wets with some success. Quite a few anglers were on Lene over the Bank Holiday, and many were buzzer fishing in calm conditions. It’s an art in its own, and really I can’t get a handle on it. Anyway I had a chat with Eugene Fagan from Dublin, and he reckons once I get hooked on it, there is no looking back. Eugene feature in our 60th Anniversary of Lene some weeks, and is originally a Multyfarnham lad.
