Sunday saw the final match in the Lough Muckno Festival qualifiers and Open series over 8 tough days but very prolific ones from an angling point of view. Seventy eight different anglers competed over the two days and in deteriorating conditions much variation in method was required but the fishing was still brilliant.

We saw one of the Lough Muckno specialists Philip Jackson do something quite unique in that he drew peg 99 for his 1st time in 10 years and he won his 3rd open to boot.
Sheets and photos show some fine fishing from the winners and runners up who all left on their various journeys home including the UK having savoured some special Lough Muckno fishing and hospitality.

Saturday saw Roscommon’s Rory Dunne matching the best of what was seen during the July Festival with a brilliant 21.5 kg in the Muckno Feeder Masters 2019 – he is no ordinary angler but certainly one of the best in Ireland today on either pole or feeder.
