Ballyduff Bridge Fishery had some great fishing after the rains and yesterday they had their best day of the season by far with 23 salmon hooked and 15 making it to the bank. There were some good results on the 13th also, unlucky for some maybe, but not the angler hooked 6 and landed 3 of about 7lb each on the Bridge Beat.
Anglers at Fortwilliam witnessed a fantastic day yesterday on the fishery with some serious runs of fish entering the system. Levels were topped up by rain along the catchment and there was great sport to be had. Spinning is working well but the fly really was top method. Using a floating line with a fast sink tip of 5ips. Flame thrower, ally shrimp and Park shrimp were flys doing the business. There was good fishing on the 13th also with 13 fish landed by about 5 in the afternoon. On Monday when the fishing got going after the flood there were even a couple of lovely sea trout in the 4lb class landed, not forgetting the 6 salmon also recorded by the anglers.

Blackwater Salmon Fishery
Blackwater Salmon Fishery has 3 beats downstream of the weir and 2 upstream of the weir. Blackwater Salmon Fishery offers fishing on approximately 5 miles of the river Blackwater. The fishing is spread throughout the middle section of the river to offer good sport throughout the fishing season. Due to the location of the beats, fishing can still usually be offered in low or high water.

Ballyduff Bridge Salmon Fishery
Ballyduff Bridge fisheries control a number of beats of the Munster Blackwater. The Ballyduff Bridge beat is almost a mile long offering a huge variety of water and is particularly suited to fly fishing. Upstream near the village of Ballyhooley (a few miles outside the town of Fermoy, Cork) we have two beats. The Ballincurrig Beat is one of the most beautiful locations along the river and has an excellent piece of fly water flowing into a deep pool. Just downstream on the opposite bank we have a short but productive beat, called Magners. This beat fishes also well in high water.
