Angling conditions remained quiet difficult over the past three weeks with very unsettled weather and dropping water levels. Week ending 7th July saw 281 salmon reported caught, week ending 14th July 303 and last week 21st July 280. However, catches are now being reported from all fisheries and there is a good show of fish in the Moy Estuary.

On the Moy Fishery successful anglers included Steve Hazeldine, UK, 4 & 4 lbs., Bill Cleary, Dublin, 4, 5 & 5.5 lbs., Roland Capouillez Belgium 4, 4.5 & 4.75lbs., Daryl Krynonis, Dublin, 3lb.s (his first ever salmon which he released), Franz Schwartz, Austria, 6.5 lbs – Ridge Pool. Rene Roche, France, 3 7 3.5 lbs, Colin Parkin, UK, 2.5, 3.5 & 3.75 lbs,- Weir Pool. Tom Glover, Wales, 5 lbs, Garrett Byrne, Dublin, 3.5 lbs, Michael Griffin, Co. Clare, 2.5 &3.5 lbs – Cathedral Beat. Pat Kane Donegal 3 &3 lbs (released), George Dawson, NI, 3.5, 5 & 5.5 lbs + 3 released, Andrew Pease ,UK, 3.5 lbs – Spring Wells. Danny McCarthy, Meath, 3 lbs, Nicolas Pascal, France, 4 lbs & 2 released – Ash Tree. All fish taken on fly.

Upstream, Eddie Manthrope, Jamie Murphy, Cathal Duddy and John Brimble had fish on the Foxford Fishery. Peter Nixon, UK, had five fish for week on bubble & fly on the Cloongee Fishery, while Gary McNamara (3 & 4 lbs) and Margaret Holmes. UK, (3, 3.5 & 6.5 lbs) also caught fish on Cloongee. On East Mayo, Pascal Nicolas, France, (2 & 4 lbs on fly), Pat Cleary, Dublin, (5.5 lbs on spinner) and Geoff Belcher, UK, (4, 4 & 5 lbs on worm) all enjoyed great fishing.
