Following the excellent fishing of the previous week, last week proved to be very disappointing. Water levels had dropped way back and hot and humid weather made for very difficult angling conditions. Angling effort was way down and while most fisheries were reporting a good show of fish there was a very poor take with only 162 salmon reported caught.
The tidal Beats in Ballina produced 12 salmon, Ballina to Foxford 125 and Foxford Town upstream 25.
