Dereck Schwartau reports from the deck of the charter boat Rebecca C

28 September: We got out today for a few hours aboard Rebecca C and we were fortunate enough to come on a few pollock. The weather has been bad and it doesn’t look much like changing. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast and hopefully we will get a few more days out of this season yet.

Next Saturday 5th Oct we are donating the boat to the Chernobyl fishing competition with all proceeds going to the children of Chernobyl. Pearse Flynn has very kindly donated €3000 prize money for the competition with

  • €1800 1st prize
  • €800 2nd prize
  • €400 3rd prize

29 September: We managed to get out again today aboard Rebecca C, 2 days from 2, not too bad I suppose. We got onto some good pollock and a few whiting along with a hand full of mackerel.

leaving Ballycotton

Conditions weren’t to bad and we managed to get the day out of it. Back to shore now where we will give the boat and ourselves a wash down.
