The Munster Blackwater finally got its first salmon of the season. The fish was caught last week on the 4th March. Colin Lynam was the lucky angler. Fly fishing in high enough, but pretty clear, water he caught and released an 8 lbs salmon.
Water levels have risen again since then but a second fish was caught on spinner, despite the murkier conditions.
The last fall of rain brought the levels back to where they were early last week and the gauge at Careysville is reading 8 feet with more rain on the way.
