Angling on the River Lee remained steady for the week with high water producing some decent results. Most salmon were caught on club waters and at the ESB Salmon Fishery. Most of these fish were in the 5-6lb range and were taken mainly on fly, shrimp and spinner.
At the Waterworks Weir angling remained quiet due to many fish passing over the weir with ease due to river levels remaining high for most of the week, although 4 salmon were still reported caught, all caught on spinner.
Inniscarra
10 salmon reported for the week. 3 were caught by local anglers weighing 6lbs, 8lbs and 9lbs all on shrimp.
Two anglers from Antrim had 7 salmon between them ranging in weight from 6lbs to 9.5lbs, all caught on shrimp. Fishing very good at present.

The River Lee drains a catchment of 484 square miles of which much is taken up by two large reservoirs. Salmon Angling is confined to an 8 mile stretch from Inniscarra dam to Cork city.

Inniscarra Fishery
This salmon fishery is located between Cork City and the dam at Inniscarra (9 miles). The fishery is run by the ESB (Electricity Supply Board) and an ESB permit is required. There is a fair run of fish with a very good grilse run dependent on water. Permits can be purchased on site from Dan O’Riordan, ESB Inniscarra; 087-9983879.
