The charter boats fishing off Donegal have more than just bluefin tuna to chase and boats from Killybegs to Downings are reporting good catches…

Michael McGettigan and the Fiona Tee got back at general fishing at the weekend. The weather was good but fishing was slow on the reefs for the first half of the day but then they headed for the sand for a hour and got plenty of good Rays and some turbot. They went back over the hard ground for the last hour and the pollock were on the take to finish off a good day.

Last week Michael McVeigh and the Rosguill wrapped up their charter fishing season. The Lockdown may have stopped the numbers travelling for the fishing – but not the fish. 2020 has finished with fishing still good. The only hiccup here was the Mackerel, which were scarce (except in the mouth of Lough Swilly).

Go Fishing…
