Lough Owel is quite high at the moment, and some cracking trout are being caught on the fly and troll.
I had a beauty of 3lbs 6oz, last week in calm conditions, and it hammered a small trout colored Lure. R
ob Connor of Clara Co. Offaly was also out on Owel with his faithful dog Ted. Rob, who I fished with some years back, was fly fishing, and pulling lures, got a few hits, and landed a nice fish 2lbs.
