Deep Blue, one of the licenced CHART Tuna tagging boats for 2021 and skippered by Adrian Molloy of Tuna.ie, has been out after some early bluefin in Donegal Bay. They got off the mark at the end of July with a fine 700lb fish and followed that up this week with anglers John and Chris who landed a powerful fish estimated to be 400lb based on a length measurement of 86inches.

In the heat of battle

Not one of the Adrian’s biggest fish to ‘Deep Blue’ but, even for a skipper as experienced as Adrian, he admitted that this powerful fish gave him a bit of a runaround! Jonty McBride was behind the lense for the fine photos.
