Last Sunday a number of Cavan clubs held matches on fisheries around the county.
The Cavan Coarse Angling Club fished the last club match of their winter league on Rockfield. Fishing was decent either end of the stretch, with the middle pegs not being so good.
As always, great craic and banter were the order of the day and a very well done to Dessie Kellegher for coming top with over 4kg from Ed Rogers on just under 4kg. Section wins to Darren Bayliss and Paul Lee.
The Romanian Catch and Release Angling Association held match four of their league on a Cavan lake and were hoping for a few Roach, hybrids or bream to make an appearance.
the club were blessed with very good weather but a nice breeze made the heat a bit more bearable.
Catches featured some small roach, hybrids and some nice specimen perch.

Last but not least, the Belturbet Angling and Conservation Club fished a match on the river Erne. A beautiful day, on a beautiful setting. Lots of fish were caught by all in what turned into a float match. It was great for the club to have up and coming Irish international Brian Clark fishing with them. Narrowly being beaten from the better end, this young man is definitely one to watch for the future.
