The first NCFFI All Ireland Lure Angling Championships takes place on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd October.

Anglers across the island are invited to attend the very first edition of this All-Ireland championship taking place on Lough Ree. Fishing is with artificial lures in pairs by boat, fishing is for pike and perch, with scores based on length with points awarded. Just submit a photo and video release of your best fish, up to a total of 20 caught each day.

The NCFFI are seeking the first All-Ireland Lure Angling pair in this competition with fantastic, sponsored prizes to supplement trophies and the cash payout dependent on entry. The winners will receive the first prize of a Humminbird Helix 9 MSI. The second placed pair will be awarded an Enduramax Electric Motor 55 and in third a pair of Spinlock Deck Vests.

Big fish prizes include a pair of DRAGON Reels (€300rrp) for the largest Pike of the two days, with €200 vouchers from Barracuda fishing tackle shop for the largest Perch. Additional prizes include vouchers from Duo Hook.

This is a catch-photo-release competition fishing with artificial lures (no-deadbait) cast only (no-trolling). Countable fish sizes are Perch 25cm and Pike 50cm. Points are based on the square length of the fish, i.e., 30cm Perch = 900 points, 90cm Pike = 8100 points. Winners are ranked by position and awarded penalties daily. The combined rankings across the two days defines the winners.

Registration will take place at Lanesborough, Ballyleague Marina from 07.30 to 08.30am. After a safety briefing, we will start the competition at 9am and finish at 4pm. Competitors have 15 minutes to present their digital imagery to the organiser. Official measuring boards will be provided along with registration cards, fishing will take place in the main basin of the lough.

Entry is €110 per pair (€120 non NCFFI members). The €10 (€20) administration fee will be collected upon entry on-line, with the €100 cash pools collected at registration on the day. Advance on-line entry only – closes 20th October 11:59pm. BOOK HERE
