Saturday 20th May saw the start of the May ‘any method’ festivals on Inniscarra. It kicked off with the one-day Hogan’s Open, followed by two three day festivals, O’Callaghan’s Cup 21st-23rd May and Ottewill Trophy, 24th-26th May…

Hogan’s Open

The Hogans Open was the first of three any method competitions fished at the end of May  on the the Garden Centre and Turtle Bay & Long Strait on the Greenway. Trev Platt won the one-day open with 21.900kg at the Garden Centre. The favoured section section featured the top 4 on the day; 2nd John Kooij 19.330kg, 3rd Gary Watson 16.170kg and 4th Peter Koopman 15.880kg.

John of sponsors Hogans Oaklands welcomed the anglers to Coachford Co. Cork and presented to the winners at O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House.

O’ Callaghan’s Cup 2023

Dale Malpas wins the O’Callaghan’s Cup with his final weight of 46.840kg after three days of great fishing at the Garden Centre and Greenway. The three day festival finished close at the top with Dave Micklewright coming in second with 45.610kg and Trev Platt third with 44.880kg. The 22 anglers enjoyed an average match weight of almost 10kg per angler per day on the three sections in play.

Congratulations to the top three and all the section winners over the three days. Eileen Martin of Inniscarra Lake Tourism and sponsor O’Callaghans Bar & Guest House presented to the winners along with Kevin Gray and Dave Carter match organisers.
