Peadar O’Brien of Irish Fishing guides hasn’t been chasing pike for a while, but when he got back on the water this week with regular French visitor and old pal Jean Feinte, he hadn’t lost the knack. The pair fished lures on light tackle and had great craic catching jacks in the lakes around Monaghan. There was the odd bigger fish thrown into the mix as well, with fish hungry and in feeding mode brought on by good conditions and large numbers of spawning roach in the shallows.

Jean Feinte is only eighty something years of age and has featured on these web pages regularly over the years, it is great to welcome him back on Irish waters once again and it is equally great that he managed to get Peadar back in action!
