East Mayo Anglers water produces some Moy springers

River Moy Angling Report week ending 09/04/2023

Water levels were in better order over the Easter period ranging in height from 0.97m – 0.76m at Ballylahan Bridge which saw an increase in angling effort.

East Mayo Anglers Association recorded their 1st salmon of the season with member Ian Guegan the lucky angler, while fishing on Thursday 6th Ian caught and released a spring salmon weighing 7.5lbs. on the spinner.

Danielle Gingell was also successful on Good Friday catching her first springer of the season. Danielle’s 8.5 lbs. was also caught on spinner.

A further 4 salmon were recorded for the week ranging in size from 7-10lbs. caught on either fly, worm or spinner. This brought a total of 6 salmon recorded for the week on EMAA waters, 2 of which were released.

There were no other salmon reported caught from the rest of the system during this period.
