Final draw for River Lee Brown Tags completed

On Monday morning, 24th July 2023, a virtual draw took place to allocate the final 45 River Lee Brown Tags for the 2023 Angling Season to prequalified salmon licence holders.

A total of 139 valid entries were received by the deadline, 5pm Thursday 20th July 2023. Invalid and duplicate entries together with previous tag winners were eliminated.

Entrants were issued numbers ranging from 701-839 inclusive by email on Friday 21st July 2023.

IFI recorded the draw and used a random generator to draw the numbers. A total of 50 numbers were drawn in the first instance. The first 45 will be allocated brown tags. The 5 reserve numbers may be allocated a tag in the event one of the first 45 is not in a position to take up the offer, or returns their allocation.

The draw was witnessed by Sean Long – RBD Director, Catherine Dwane – Assistant Inspector, John Twomey – Fisheries Inspector and Shane O’Reilly – Angling Advisor.
