Killybegs Mariners report from their last league outing…
Twelve anglers made the journey to Rosbeg on a cracking evening. Unfortunately, the fishing wasn’t as good as the weather!
Early on there were a few turbot showing with the biggest a 23cm for Pat Byrne. As the hours went by there were a lot of anglers looking for their first fish. A few trout livened up the proceedings as darkness fell with the best at 52cm for Cormac Duddy. As the trout moved off, one angler was pulling well clear of the rest with 4 different species on the scorecard.

In first place on the night was John Cunningham with 197 points with turbot, flounder, trout and a weaver. Second place went to Cormac Duddy on 77 points with a trout. Longest flat was taken by a relieved Brian Smith who left it very late to land a 28cm flounder. The lucky peg also went to Brian Smith. Well done to the prize winners and thanks to all who came out for the evening!
