The NCFFI report on a recent match at Inniscarra:
Inniscarra Lake held a one-day warm-up to their May back-to-back festivals on Saturday. The Hogan’s Open, sponsored by Coachford’s Oaklands B&B, saw 28 anglers fish a match featuring two sections on the Coachford Greenway, Cably Buoys and Turtle Bay and a section at the Garden Centre.
The water had risen a few feet in previous days, but it didn’t seem to affect the fishing. Match winner Niall McKitterick from County Cavan reports that the fishing started off slowly at the Garden Centre, but he finished with 131 hybrids and a few skimmers for 27kgs 100grms on the whip. Portlaoise angler Gavin Walsh finished just behind for second position with 26.820kg from the Cable Buoys section of the Greenway. In 3rd place was regular overseas visitor John Fletcher, 23.860kg, followed by Gary Doyle 20.190kg and Jeff Grant in 5th with 18.410kg.
