The Blackwater rose approximately 8 inches during the week ended September 1st. This rise was from what would have been very low conditions, but this rise quickly dropped off again swiftly.
There is no point in attempting to gloss over the fact that Salmon angling catches throughout the length of the Blackwater is extremely poor and although there are some Salmon present, especially along the lower beats of the river, it has to be said that in the main these fish are coloured and simply not taking.
