Cormac Walsh of the Lure Fishing Podcast did well during the last set of big tides, and he expects to do even better as the tides build and the wind settles later next week:
Some of my favourite tides are the big springs in the month of September. The last one over the new moon just gone was no different, when some bigger fish decided to show.
This bass was the best of the bunch taken on a soft plastics bouncing in the current. The fishing peaked for me the day before the new moon and slowly tapered since. Lots of bait fish, mackerel and scad inshore providing plenty of feeding – no doubt the big fish are sure to be nearby.
Roll on the next big tides…
