Saoire Mara Charters report…
Fishing has been going well lately with plenty pollack and coalies on the reefs. Mackerel are starting to appear though a little patchy. A good variety of fish are showing on recent outings including an extremely rare catch of a short spined sea scorpion. Although the fish wasn’t weighed or measured, it is estimated to be near the specimen length of 27cm.
The recent trip produced 11 varieties of fish including mackerel, pollack, coalfish, cod, whiting, haddock, ballán wrasse, pouting, poor cod, red gurnard and grey gurnard.
Last weekend produced 8 varieties including a ling, megrim and herring.
