Killybegs Mariners enjoy great fishing from shore and boat!


Killybegs Mariners were out and about the last week enjoying great variety fishing in Donegal. Here is their report…

Last Friday, 19 anglers took part in our “longest flattie competition”. Some great fish over 30cm were landed during the competition including a 34cm for Chris, a 35cm for Darren landing them just outside of the top two prize places. In 2nd place winning €60 with a great flounder of 36cm was Robert Mallin Jr. and in 1st place winning €120 with a flounder of 38cm was Shane Cunningham.

Over the Bank Holiday weekend some of the crew had a great day out in all forms of weather aboard Tuna.ie with a total of 16 species got over reef and mixed ground.

During this week, some nice fish were going for the crew with a few decent bass for John C, a few thornback rays for Chris W and flounders to 37cm and a few sea trout for Proinnsias.
