How’s The Fishing?

Not a bad week of fishing for Peter & Mark. Peter was on the water guiding clients from America, Dublin & Cork. All enjoyed fishing the Nore.

Mark & Peter grabbed few hours early in the morning last Wednesday on the Nore. Hitting a likely spot with good numbers. They had some great fishing in the runs but only the shallows. Faster deeper runs weren’t holding as many fish yet. So they fished the margins and edges of runs and recalled some great numbers of fish between them over the course of a two hour session. They were heading for home but couldn’t resist another quick cast in the next beat up on the Nore near the car. Planned to fish 15mins then swap over. Peter had 8 nice fish, before Mark took his turn and manage 9 with a minute to go. Good fun and great practice for competitions those short burst sessions.

On Thursday Mark got back out to fish the Dinan a tributery fo the River Nore further upstream. Mark fished with Roger for a 3hour session. Mark started on straight dry and recalled fishing to be great and stayed away from nymphs and had great action. Roger stucked to dry dropper and nymphs and had alot of fish also. But found all fish taken on the dropper nymph. So fish were looking up on the warm day.

Since then Mark got out last night for quick 1.5hr session on his local club on the Upper Nore. Reported some great fish with 34 (20cm+) fish to the net. With others lost. Great conditions with plenty of fly life and great rise on.
