The Leinster Coarse Fishing Federation held the seventh outing of their Leinster Open on the Grand Canal at Daingean last weekend. It wasn’t one of their busiest days on the bank, as catches were relatively poor from both the Town section and Heffernan’s Lane.
In the end, it was Heffernan’s Lane that produced the marginally better fishing, with Colin Devoy taking 1.68kg for the win. Interestingly, the next three best weights were all 1.22kg on the nose, giving a three-way tie for second place.
