Jim Delaney reports on the first qualifier of four in the VDE Irish Canal Masters where over €2000 stands could be won…
While the weather for competitors on the first qualifier of the VDE Irish Canal Masters was extremely warm, bright and sunny it did not help most sections unless the bream showed up, and in certain pegs they did.
Winner Nicky Harrison had four of them along with a few roach for 9 lb. On the next peg, Dave Clark had five bream but pulled out of four but finished runner up with 8lb 5oz. In third place Alan Bell didn’t rely on bream and had 6lb 12oz of roach.
