Big tides, big bass.

That has been the pattern this last few weeks anyway for Cormac Walsh of The Lure Fishing Podcast. Spring tides over last weekend again activated some feeding fish and Cormac took a punt on a mark he hadn’t visited for quite a while – one that he knew would fish well, but only at a certain stage of tide.

Cormac had been using an ever reliable Seeker, but once the sky became overcast, he figured that a white and green Sasuke – another favourite – could be well worth a blast.

A couple of casts later and bang – he hooked into this beauty in 3ft of water. Cormac reckons that it just goes to show you should trust your instincts more often – and it’s great to see a few bigger fish around so early in the season!
