John Fleming of Blue Shark Angling Galway had a group from Wicklow Bay SAC fishing with him over the weekend. The target species was porbeagle shark, but a sloppy day on Friday meant that they were difficult to target, so the lads had to settle for a single blue shark along with a range of regular species.
But it all came good on Saturday, as the weather settled, allowing them to fish a more productive mark a bit further offshore. And there will have been plenty of sore arms come evening time as they manage 9 porgies between them, ranging from 100lb all the way up to 250lb.
