It has been an awful couple of weeks for charter boat fishing, with windy conditions making it difficult, if not impossible to get out. Skipper Luke Aston has had a few days blown off, but luckily the sheltered Shannon Estuary is on the doorstep, and he has been able to provide some fishing for his crews when conditions were too bad to get offshore.
The estuary has been providing some good sport too, with tope, ray and some cracking bull huss coming aboard.

Despite the lumpy conditions, they finally got out offshore on Tuesday, and found good steady fishing on the reefs, mostly pollack and coalfish with a few other species mixed in.
The forecast looks like we may see some settled weather next week, and we’re sure Luke and his anglers re looking forward to that!
Go fishing…
