Padraig English of the Louth Pike and Trout YouTube channel was in touch with us following a recent trip after wild carp in Monaghan – here is his story:
Over the last few weeks I’ve been watching, learning, and picking up loads of great tips from the angling community on the bank — and it’s really paid off. Last year I landed a 10lb carp while fishing for tench, but this year I wanted to properly target carp and put what I’ve learned into practice.
Well, today it all came together with this beautiful 13.5 lb wild common carp from a Monaghan lough. I still have loads to learn, but sessions like this make the early mornings and patience worth it. Big thanks to everyone who’s shared advice and helped me along the way; I can’t wait to get back out there and see what’s next!
