Peter and the guys from Piscari Fly are back with their latest newsletter:
World Youth Fly Fishing Championship

The Fips-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship is taking place later this week in Donegal. Peter and Mark will be heading up early Wednesday morning for the week. Really looking forward to it; should be an interesting week. The boys will be doing lots of videos and interviews throughout the week, so keep an eye on our social media for interesting updates as they make their way through the championship.
Best of luck to all the teams travelling and looking forward to seeing everyone in Donegal.

How’s the Fishing
So fishing is really tough at the moment across the country; lakes are low and hot, rivers are even lower and hotter. A lot of angling clubs are making the wise decision to close their waters. Anyone going out fishing rivers in this kind of weather needs to be very careful how they handle the fish. The oxygen levels in the river would be low, making it very hard for fish to recover. So wet your hands and get them back in the river very quickly if you do choose to go fishing. We have cancelled all our coaching for the foreseeable till we get some water again. It’s looking like it’s here for another few days anyway, but hopefully by the time the lads are back from Donegal there will have been a drop of rain.
Sea Fishing
Peter and Mark got out for a few sessions on the sea recently, starting to look for a few bass. Again, fishing is ok in places, but a lot of weed is drifting about on the North / South Wexford coast, making it difficult to get fish, but a few fish about alright. Lovely to be getting out on the coast, and will be planning to get out again once back from Donegal.
TAFI Leinster Youth Lake Qualifiers.
Kindly hosted by Laois Angling Centre Venue. We had 5 Youths turn out today for the Qualifiers, with some last-minute anglers unable to attend. Fishing was up and down at times. But conditions were good, and there was plenty of fish activity. 42 fish landed, measured and safely returned by the 5 young anglers. Congratulations to the winners and 5 young men qualifying for the Inter-Pros later this year. 1st Jack McGuinness 2nd Rhys Tuckett 3rd Harry McGuinness Longest fish – Jack McGuinness 54 cm. Big thank you to Enda and Johno of Laois Angling Centre.
