Lindsey Clarke reports that even Lough Melvin could do with some water at this stage…
Lough Melvin fished well on occasions for sonaghan with some rods reporting good catches. On other days the going was hard with only the odd good sonaghan and most fish being undersize. The best reports came from the drifts at Maguire’s Island and the Rossinver Fishery. There was no angling effort for salmon and so nothing to report on this front. This is normal however and the last six weeks of the season are normally quiet with few rods fishing for salmon. Melvin could really do with some meaningful rain to raise the lough from the very low present level.
