George Ryan reports on the inaugural coarse competition on the river Blackwater at Navan…

The first Perpetual Sean Mc Cabe Trophy was held on the River Blackwater in Navan today. Sean was a good friend and fishing pal of NCAC stalwart Bowbie O’ Malley , and it was fitting that with the gracious consent of our fellow anglers in Navan Anglers , this historic match went ahead on a local water .
While the fishing was challenging , a most enjoyable was had by all , with rising NCAC star Callum Reilly , narrowly pipping Bowbie himself to take the silverware .
