Efforts are continuing to tackle an invasive weed species on Lough Corrib.
Inland Fisheries Ireland is to continue to fund a programme for the management and removal of African pond weed.
The weed was discovered in the Corrib over a decade ago and can grow up to six metres tall.
It affects levels of fish stock and also hinders sail boats.
The IFI programme to tackle the problem was initiated three years ago but was due to expire in October….
