Curragh Springs Fishery
The fishing was good all week at Curragh Springs in Co. Kildare with fish being caught all round lake at the beginning of the week. However, as the week progressed many fish were being caught in the margins 3 mtrs. from the bank. All the lucky anglers who have hooked one or more Curragh Springs Rainbows have been delighted by these hard fighting fish in stunning condition.
Water clarity remains very good unaffected by the recent bad spells of weather.
Favourite patterns included Damsel, Dancer, Cat’s Whisker,Hare’s Ear, Diawl Bach, Buzzer, Bloodworm and even Daddy Long Legs and Hopper fished just under the surface.
The frosty nights combined with bright days during the week made things a little harder, but contrary to expectation the fish were still not deep.
Igor Szaraz from Slovakia with a fine Curragh Springs Rainbow caught on a recent visit to the fishery.

Here at Curragh Springs we have now erected new fishing stands on the North side of the lake to make things a little more comfortable while fishing.
