Cashel Trout Fishery report by Marlene Mc Laughlin
With the nice crisp autumnal air anglers are quite enjoying themselves trying out different flies. Limavady’s Liam Mullan and George Ness used minkies and suspender buzzers to bank ten and seven trout respectively. Dungiven’s Shane Irwin used a small green lure to bank six beauties while young lads Conor Bradley and Joe Convery (Draperstown) bagged one trout and missed a few which were tempted by the egg fly. Limavady’s Keith and Jonathan Nicholl accompanied by Stephen Gurney (Limavady) did very well using multi coloured gold head buzzers and gold head olive cat’s whiskers to bank a total of seven trout with Jonathan taking one home which weighed 2lb.
We are taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day. Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.
