24 anglers turned out for the final match in the Float Only Winter League in excellent and calm weather conditions with temperatures up to 20c.
The match was fished on the Roslea Lakes of Gavin’s, Lyon’s, Inver and Killyfole, with small Roach feeding well many anglers caught over 100 fish on the Pole and Slider.
The winner of the match was Neil Mazurek (Cootehill) with 6.000Kgs, fishing on Killyfole Peg 1, Neil caught on 13m on the Pole.
Runner Up was John Potters (Lisballaw) on Gavin’s Peg 7, John also fished the pole for 4.770Kgs. Third overall was Paul Leese (Cootehill) who was also at Gavin’s schools and caught 4.040Kgs from peg 6.
The other section winners were David Herron (Co Tyrone) 2.880Kgs at Inver, Jack Tisdall (Ballinamallard) 3.360kgs at Lyon’s. Dave Herron (Co Tyrone) has won the league with 51points and Neil Mazurek (Cootehill) was runner up with 48points.
The Junior section of the League was won by James O’Doherty on 33points, narrowly beating Jordan Hall (Lisnaskea) on 31points. James has also become the first Junior in the club to qualify for the top 18 final next weekend.
An average of over 25 anglers fished every match, fishing for a total of over £7,000 prize money over the course of the league.
