Monday 6th to Sunday 12th February 2012.

The weather was fairly variable once again this week. The week was mostly wet and cool but the weekend brought nice settled, dry conditions and we even got the odd beam of sunlight! Water levels were good and the gauge is now reading 0.65 metres.

The fishery was reasonably quiet with most rods fishing at the weekend. There were two fresh salmon recorded and one would have expected a few more given the high tides this week. It may be that given all the high water, most of the salmon are running through to the Lough? One of the fish was caught by William Rainey and weighed 5lb. It was caught on a Flying ‘C’ lure from the Mill pool on Saturday morning. The other fish was of a similar size and was caught by G. McGonigle on a spinner from The Meadow also on Saturday.
