Midland Lakes and River Inny by Dermot Broughan
The weather over the past week has been very good with dry spells and warm in the evenings.
Lough Ennell:
Lough Ennell anglers were out once again fishing the Rex Beaumont Cup on Sunday the 16th of September. Conditions were not the best with very windy wet weather for most of the day. However four fish were weighed in and John Brennan won the day with a fine trout of 5.792 lb.

Lough Owel:
The number of anglers on the lake has been small over the last week. However the anglers that did venture out have been having some good results. Alan Tyrrell from Mullingar on Thursday evening had six fish four of which were returned. The best was 1¾ lb. Eugene Mc Gratten from Dublin had one fish 3 lb. 3 oz. on a fly. John Plunkett Jr also had a good fish during the week weighing in at 3 lb. 2 oz. In all 18 fish were reported for the week.
Lough Derravaragh:
All the action was on other midland lakes over the weekend and there are no reports of trout being caught on Derravaragh over the week.
River Inny:
Water levels were high during the week and no anglers were seen fishing the hot spots.
