LENE ON ST. PATRICKS DAY. Yes this year I drowned the Shamrock on the Lake, and not in the pub. I did manage to make it back to Town in time for the parade and well done to all who organized such a great few hours’ entertainment. Anyway back to the fishing, and what a few hours we had on Lene St Patrick Day morning. The fish were really fired up and seem to be on parade on the lake, with the first sign of Duck Fly. Not a lot, but the fish worked up the long slicks sucking down the few fly that were hatching. I met a few great characters from Trim in the form of John Magee, and Gerry Peppard, but the Morning belonged to 12 years old Jack Cottrell also from Trim who caught his first trout, and on the fly.
