The I.F.I. Ballybay Angling Association 2 day coarse match was held on Sat/Sun 13th & 14th July. 51 anglers turned up to fish this event which was being fished on Black/Yellow Island, Bairds Shore and Bream Rock.

Amongst these anglers were World Pairs Champions, 2 World Silver medalists, 2012 Irish Open Feeder Champion, 2012 & 2011 Irish Open champions.

Saturday saw some great weights being taken off Yellow Island with the heaviest bag weighing in at 26.290kgs on peg 199 caught by Kevin Norcliffe, whilst Black Island struggled with there being only 4.270kgs on peg 171 caught by Mick Carr.

The end pegs on Bairds shore seemed to be the place to be with 20.220kgs coming off peg 11 caught by Peter Walsh and 13.650kgs on peg 26 caught by Seame Winters.

Bream Rock was consistent with weights averaging in or around 3 – 9 kgs, however Cathal Hughes on peg 1 had the heaviest bag with 19.110kgs.

With Yellow Island proving quite a hit on Saturday it proved quite the opposite on Sunday – with the heaviest weight of 8.030kgs coming off peg 195 caught by Liam O’Brien.

Heaviest weights on the other sections on sunday were as follows,

Black Island 9.20kgs peg 159 caught by Neil Mazurek, Bairds Shore 10.050kgs peg 11 caught by Karl Woodhouse, and Bream Rock 16.110kgs peg 10 caught by Meeky Cummings.
