Two impressive herons catch bass with Richie Ryan

Eire Bass guide Richie Ryan had a husband and wife booked for five days as clients during the week . As Cork Harbour was stuffed with mackerel and fry the guide was not very optimistic about the prospects of catching  bass.

The UK couple were anxious to get a fish to eat as they had a camper van and wanted to taste a bass again. They hooked up the elusive bass every day but on one day the bass were all too big for the pot and Richie prevailed upon them to release the large females on this occasion. As can be seen from the photos it was important that these brood stock breed again and they gladly released all these large bass.  However they did get to taste a bass.

Sue Heron impressed the guide with her fly fishing ability while Vin Heron was happy to use traditional angling techniques to catch a variety of species. In fact they were so happy with the fishing and the scenery in Cork Harbour that they booked Richie again for next year.
