Shaun Hegarty reports that Curragh Springs is still open despite the low temperatures and the odd flurry of snow. As is normal in such cold weather, the fish are lying fairly deep, around 4 to 5 feet down and most are taking small lures fished with a fairly slow retrieve. A few fish can be seen lying in the margins, taking close to the edge. Over the course of the week , all areas of Curragh Springs were productive. Those anglers brave enough to venture out here were generally quite successful, particularly the Brave Dundalk Boys, neither freezing temperatures, Snow, Ice nor bitterly cold winds could stop them fishing here on Wednesday. Hubert Smith, John Kellegher and Eamonn Mc Elroy [All Pictured Below] ventured down for their day out.

Curragh Springs continues to open Seven days a week from 9am until dark, however during the cold harsh times it is advisable to call ahead before travelling for an update on fishing conditions here at Curragh Springs or alternatively check our face book page.
