Garrett from the Courtlough Trout fishery near Balbriggan Co. Dublin reports:
we are holding round 1 of our Winter fishing competition on Sunday 24th November from 10 am to 2 pm.
The top 3 anglers in each heat will receive prizes and automatically qualify for the grand final in March.
This competition is fly only and is open to all, only €20 entry, which includes lunch.
Each heat is limited to the first 30 to register for the round.

Garrett reported that Rainbow Trout up to 8 lb. were taken in the past week on the fishery . He advised that sunk line tactics were now the main attack as the water temperatures have dropped considerably in the past week and inching lures and buzzers along the bottom were working well
