Martin Cooper, Secretary of the Dundalk & District Brown Trout & Salmon Anglers Association reports taht the club hosted the TAFI Senior Rivers Interprovincial Championship on Saturday the 28th of September on the River Fane. Thirty five anglers from Ulster, Munster and Leinster fished over two sessions, one in the morning and one afternoon. They were fly fishing for brown trout on a catch and release basis on individual beats. Each angler had their own controller to record their catch and points were awarded using the Fips Mouche scoring system. A staggering total of 835 trout were caught averaging 29 trout per angler. Campbell Baird topped the results with 62 trout, second was Shane Callan with 47 and third Damian Walsh with 42. The Provincial results were 1st Munster, 2nd Leinster and 3rd Ulster.

The club would like to thank the competitors, controllers and all who helped in making this a successful event and look forward to hosting other Championships in the future.
